Important Weather Update for Friday, Jan. 23 - Sunday, Jan. 25

Even though we know that winter precipitation may impact our area over the weekend, we’re ready to welcome our Bearcats tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 23 for a regular school day! We have received information from the National Weather Service in Fort Worth that we will not have freezing temperatures until late Friday evening. So please have your children bundle up and come to school tomorrow!
With that said, as temperatures are forecasted to drop below freezing and bring in inclement weather, Aledo ISD is canceling all extracurricular activities beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, January 23 through Sunday, January 25. Coaches, sponsors and directors will communicate with students about what their Friday afternoon plans are. All Aledo ISD buildings will be closed during that time. Also, we have been notified by Camp Fire that they have canceled all after-school care in Aledo ISD.
The National Weather Service has shared that it is possible that the impact of this weekend’s winter precipitation could extend into next week. We are closely monitoring the weather and want to make sure you know that any school delays or closings due to inclement weather will be communicated by 5 a.m. each school day at the latest. We make decisions about changes to our school schedules as early as it is practical and share those with you as early as we can so that you can plan accordingly. In addition to communicating delays or closings via text message and email, the district will communicate information via social media, district and campus websites, and local news outlets.
